چکیده
Insects have a great potential to be used as feedstocks for biodiesel production due their intrinsic high lipid contents. In particular, from black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) is promising because of its advantages in engineering aspects such rapid proliferation, more storage long-development time larva stage, self-separation organic waste. this study, was synthesized through (trans)esterification BSFL grown on food waste achieve both biofuel materials. addition, all fuel properties the were examined evaluate feasibility transportation Korea. The highest yield obtained study 86.51%. All parameters produced satisfied Korea standard (KS M 2965) except oxidation stability. quality criterion stability met with an addition small quantity tert-butylhydroquinone.

From organic waste to biodiesel: Black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens, makes it feasible
Biodiesel is a renewable and environmentally friendly liquid fuel. However, the feedstock, predominantly crop oil, is a limited and expensive food resource which prevents large scale application of biodiesel. Development of non-food feedstocks are therefore, needed to fully utilize biodiesel’s potential. In this study, the larvae of a high fat containing insect, black soldier fly (Hermetia illu...

The study was conducted to investigate the optimum conditions for biodiesel formation from pure (virgin) soybean cooking oil (PSCO) and waste soybean cooking oil (WSCO) coming after alkaline transesterification process in combination with methanol, ethanol and 1-butanol. Some important variables such as volumetric ratio, types of reactants and catalytic activities were selected to obtain a high...
متن کاملBiodiesel: A Cost-effective Fuel Using Waste Materials
The main disadvantage of biodiesel is its high price. The price of biodiesel depends on various factors such as the price of oil, methanol, catalyst, and labor. Among dif-ferent economic factors, oil accounts for the largest share of input costs of biodiesel production. In this study, first, suitable heterogeneous catalysts were identified for biodiesel production. Several studies were carried ...
متن کاملBioconversion of dairy manure by black soldier fly (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) for biodiesel and sugar production.
Modern dairies cause the accumulation of considerable quantity of dairy manure which is a potential hazard to the environment. Dairy manure can also act as a principal larval resource for many insects such as the black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens. The black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) are considered as a new biotechnology to convert dairy manure into biodiesel and sugar. BSFL are a common colo...
